Grandezza Gives Back – Fund Raiser for PFC Corey Kent, Cape Coral Native – January 16, 2011

On January 16, 2011 – Grandezza is pulling together to have a fund raiser for a very special person, PFC Corey Kent.

 

Corey Kent was raised in Cape Coral and graduated from Mariner High School in 2006.  Upon joining the Army and completing basic training, Corey was deployed to Afghanistan.  After only three weeks in Afghanistan, on July 12, 2010 at age 21, he was critically injured while on foot patrol.  He lost both legs and all the fingers on his left hand, due to an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion.  He was transferred to two mash units in Afghanistan, then transferred to a hospital in Germany and then to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C..

 

Family fund raising activities at Grandezza Club:

5K Run/Walk  8:30 – 10:00  $20 Entry Fee
Family fun run and walk within the Grandezza community.
Coffee and Danish provided by Grandezza club for all.
 

Tennis Activities 

 10:00 – 4:00  Reserve a court      $100/court (1 ¼ hrs)

                   Three-and-a-Pro     $100/person (1 ¼ hrs) 
                   Beat the Pro            $5/point, 6 for $2
                   Target Tennis         $5/try, 6 for $25

 

Raffle and Silent Auction: Buy/earn tickets to win prizes from our sponsors.

 Food and Beverage will be for sale by the Club at Grandezza throughout the day.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Corey Kent Fund.

 

 

Proceeds from Grandezza Gives Back will assist Corey and his family during his recovery.
